Freaky Big Naturally, Wade’s results at the Natural Olympia in Greece
Monday, November 26th, 2007Hi Everyone,
Greetings from Ancient Greece.
Last night marked my return to the International Stage after a 4 year hiatus, and of course this years sudden return to competition.
I managed to place 5th in my category Open Men’s under 5′9″. I am extremely pleased with the results.
The quality of the athletes at the show was incredible. I am constantly amazed at the level of development being reached my Natural Athletes. The bar keeps being raised every year. What’s more is how Natural Bodybuilding at this level has embraced the ideals of physcial development.
As I reflect on the show today I noticed one pertinent fact.
Everybody in the show looked fantastic!!! While there was a great range in physiques far as proportions, size, conditioning etc.  For the most part each of the athletes had put out the best there individual genetics would allow for at that point in time. While judging is subjective and some people like different qualities in physiques such as size over cuts, or mass over proportions one thing I can say about the physiques is… EVERYBODY looked great.
In fact I don’t think anyone would look at the physiques that were on that stage and say anyone looked gross, deformed, sick, or unhuman. The physiques were inspirational as opposed to shocking.
Now compare this to a professional bodybuilding show or National Championship in NON TESTED bodybuilding and one is for the most people the physiques looked mutated, disgusting, unhealthy, non-inspiring.
 What a difference.
While for many years I have been put of by the State of Bodybuilding in it’s current form this contest rekindled in me the essence of what true Body Building is and exactly what it looks like. Inspirational to say the least.
Real bodybuilding is about mastering oneself, and maximizing one’s potential for life irregardless of results. You don’t have to compete in a World Championship, or any contest for that matter to get it. All you have to do is apply yourself to a sound system of training and diet with consistency and you will experience REAL Bodybuilding in it’s pure form!
This contest brought me hope, hope about the future of the sport, hope that we just might get it right as I am not alone in my pursuit of excellence without chemicals. I can only hope that my experiences can help you hold true to your decisions to be natural and take the journy into the Inner World that bodybuilding can facilitate.
I also want to thank everyone for the incredible support I have received from everyone via emails etc. While I can’t respond individually to everyone, I don’t mentally send you my gratitude… It’s an honor to serve you.
Live well, love life, and train Natural
